Your health data stays on your phone
Privacy policy of Rythmea, the Ombelle recovery app · Last updated: 4 November 2026
Every morning, this app calculates your recovery, sleep and effort scores from what your watch or ring shares with Health Connect. Everything happens on your phone: we have no server that receives your data, there is no account to create, no advertising and no analytics tool.
Who is responsible
The app is published by Maxence Bonnet, sole proprietor (MaxFabrics, SIREN 104406707), under the Ombelle brand. For any question about your data: ombelle@maxfabrics.com.
What the app reads from Health Connect
Only with your agreement: you tick the box “I am 18 or over and I agree that the app reads this data”, then you choose the permissions on the Health Connect screens. The app reads, without ever writing anything there:
- your heart rate, to find your lowest rate of the night and the effort of your workouts;
- your resting heart rate, to stand in when your watch gives nothing for the night;
- your heart rate variability (HRV), if your watch writes it, to compare it with your average;
- your sleep, for your sleep score;
- your workouts, for your effort;
- your steps, for your activity of the day;
- if you allow it, your history older than 30 days, to know your average from day one.
Reading in the background
Only if you turn on “Calculate my scores when I wake up”: the app then reads the same data without you opening it, on your phone, so that your scores are ready as soon as your night arrives in Health Connect. The morning notification, if you ask for it, contains no numbers.
What this data is used for
Only to calculate your scores and show them to you. It is not sold, not passed on, and not used for advertising or to assess creditworthiness. The use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
What you enter
The journal, only after a separate agreement (alcohol, caffeine, late screens, special days, felt energy and effort), your workout ratings and your settings (sleep need, source chosen for each type of data).
Where your data is
On this phone, encrypted (AES-GCM 256-bit, with a key kept in the Android Keystore). If you place a widget on the home screen, its scores are also kept on the phone to display it. None of this is copied into Android's automatic backup or into a transfer to a new phone.
What can leave the phone
Only what you start yourself: an export (CSV or PDF) or a backup encrypted with a password you choose, stored wherever you choose. We have no access to them. Once the file is out, its protection depends on where you keep it: an export is not encrypted.
Advertising and trackers
The app contains no advertising, no advertising ID, no analytics tool and no crash reporting tool.
Purchases
Plus plan purchases go through Google Play, which handles the payment under its own rules (policies.google.com/privacy). The app never sees your payment method; it only asks Google Play which offer is active and, for a yearly subscription, its date, to remind you of its renewal. It keeps only the active offer on the phone. The Google Play component built into the app for purchases also sends Google technical data about its own operation, never your health data. As with any seller, Google Play gives us sales records (order number, product, amount, country), without your name or payment method; we keep them for as long as our accounting obligations require.
Google Play statistics
If you have agreed to share usage and diagnostics data with Google on your phone, Google Play may show us crash statistics, anonymous and aggregated.
If you write to us
Your message and your address are used only to reply to you. Please don't include health data.
Age
The app is for people aged 18 and over. It asks you to confirm this before connecting Health Connect.
Legal basis
Your explicit consent (GDPR, articles 6 and 9) for reading Health Connect and for the journal; the contract for purchases; our legal obligations for sales records. You can withdraw your agreement at any time in the Health Connect permissions: the app then reads nothing more.
How long
Your data stays on your phone until you erase it: the app sends it nowhere and does not erase it by itself.
Correcting or erasing your data
The journal can be corrected directly in the app. To erase everything: Settings › Delete all my data, then confirm, or uninstall the app. Your watch's data stays in Health Connect, which manages it. Since we hold none of your health data, you access and export it in the app. For your other rights, write to ombelle@maxfabrics.com. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, or to your own.
What the app is not
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any health condition. For any medical advice, see a healthcare professional.
If this policy changes
The date at the top of this page changes with it. Any new use of your data would first ask for your agreement.
